The heart behind the art ❤️🔥
I was born and raised in rural Maine in the 1980s, where I learned traditional arts and crafts from local artisans and village elders. Struggling with undiagnosed neurodivergence and PMDD, I found that artmaking became a way to self-soothe and regulate my emotions. In my thirties, I earned an Art Therapy certification and hosted Sip & Sketch sessions in beautiful locations throughout Maine.
Today, I live in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, where I continue to draw inspiration from the natural beauty and folk traditions of rural life. My preferred mediums include pastels, charcoal, and acrylic paint, which I enjoy applying to natural materials such as canvas, wood, fungi and birch bark.
